BBQ Winners; Softball Showdown

Here's what you should know to start Aug. 30 in Kennesaw.

1. It will be mostly sunny with a high around 91 and a gentle breeze kicking up over the course of the day, the National Weather Service says, and the temperature will fall to about 70 overnight. The air and ground remain dry, so beware of a heightened risk of brush fires and don’t flick cigarette butts into the grass. 2. The city of Kennesaw has announced the winners of the Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival competition from the weekend. In the professional category, Blue Sky BBQ of Dawsonville won $2,000 as the grand champion of the event the Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctions and recognizes as the Georgia state championship. Pigs & Peaches a Big Success

Vendors and barbecue teams traveled from all around the nation to show off their skills in gourmet BBQ and to sell their goods.
