U.N. to Open 1st University-Based Training Center in Kennesaw
A Monday ceremony will mark the occasion.
Kennesaw State University and CIFAL Atlanta, the United Nations training center for government authorities and civil society leaders, will celebrate the formation of a new partnership and the relocation of CIFAL’s office to the university’s campus during a Feb. 11 ceremony. Walter Bastian, deputy assistant secretary for the Western Hemisphere, U.S. Department of Commerce, will deliver the keynote address at the ceremony, scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Monday. Kennesaw State University president Daniel S. Papp and CIFAL Atlanta Board of Trustees chair Craig Lesser are expected to attend. The partnership creates the first U.N. training center worldwide to be hosted by a university.
