Warrants have been issued for the arrest of a Kennesaw woman accused of taking gift cards, electronics and other goods from residents of the Lakeside Vista Apartments as far back as September. Together, the stolen items had an estimated value of more than $3,000, according to Cobb County criminal warrants. In the September incident, a resident allowed Allison Rose Formby and her juvenile daughter inside his unit, according to one of the warrants. The resident and Formby went on the patio to smoke while the juvenile watched television inside the residence. A Marietta man is in critical condition after the car in which he was riding slammed into a utility pole in a two-vehicle accident Friday at the intersection of Johnson Ferry Road and Woodlawn Drive.

A driver from Kennesaw struck a Lexus at the intersection of Johnson Ferry Road and Woodlawn Drive Friday night, sending it into a utility pole and seriously injuring one of the passengers in the Lexus. Kyle Lysaght, 22, of Marietta, was airlifted to the Atlanta Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition Saturday, Cobb Police Sgt. Dana Pierce said. Police said Lysaght was a frontseat passenger in a gray 2007 Lexus heading southbound on Johnson Ferry shortly before 5 p.m. Friday. As the vehicle approached the intersection, it was struck by a white 2005 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driven by Zeferino Trego, 49, of Kennesaw. The Cobb County Police Department this afternoon released surveillance images of the suspects wanted in connection with Saturday's armed robbery at a Kennesaw jewelry store. Around 10:50 a.m. Saturday, three men walked into Diamonds R Forever and pointed handguns at the employees, said Officer Mike Bowman, the spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department. As one of the suspects grabbed money from the cash register, the other two men smashed several of the display cases and took various pieces of jewelry, he said. The trio, clad in hats and long-sleeved, button down shirts, fled the business and drove away in an unknown type of vehicle. A Kennesaw man was arraigned in federal court in Atlanta on Monday on charges of production and possession of child pornography. Benjamin Sanders, 55, was indicted by a federal grand jury on Nov. 13. He is being held without bond. “Child pornography victimizes and exploits the most vulnerable and defenseless members of our society," United States Attorney Sally Quillian Yates said. This defendant is charged not only with possessing sexually explicit images of children, but also with creating some of those images.” According to a news release, after receiving information that Sanders had taken sexually explicit photographs of a minor, investigators from the Cobb County Police Department obtained a search warrant for Sanders’ …

Hours after homes were evacuated, roads were blocked and members of the Cobb County Police SWAT team converged on a Kennesaw neighborhood early this morning, investigators were still trying to determine what caused the shooting that started it all. "It's fuzzy math," said Sgt. Dana Pierce, spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department. About six people were inside a Bozeman Lake Road residence this morning when one man, using a "long, powerful assault type of weapon," shot another man who was visiting the home, Pierce said.
