Hundreds Support Fit City Kick-Off
Saturday's kick-off included health screenings, speakers, and sign-ups for upcoming 5K events.
Kennesaw residents came out in force Saturday to get involved in the citywide "Fit City" initiative, which encourages people to embrace healthier habits by promoting nutrition and exercise to combat obesity and improve quality of life. "We were hoping for 300 to 500 people, and we've blown that out of the water," said Kennesaw City Councilwoman Cris Eaton-Welsh, who spearheaded the kick-off, held at the Ben Robertson Community Center. She added that a database will be kept of participants, and a manual will also be assembled showing how to coordinate such a citywide effort.
