Freezing Rain Advisory Issued for Acworth and Kennesaw
North Cobb could see ice accumulations of less than a tenth of an inch.
Be prepared for a potentially slippery commute Friday morning, Acworth and Kennesaw. The National Weather Service this afternoon issued a freezing rain advisory for much of metro Atlanta, including Cobb County. The advisory, which will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, means that "freezing rain or freezing drizzle could cause travel difficulties," especially on bridges and overpasses, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures tonight will plunge into the upper 20s in Kennesaw and the low 30s in Acworth. There will be a 60 percent chance of precipitation Friday, when North Cobb could see ice accumulations of less than a tenth of an inch. Wind gusts could reach 15 m.p.h.
