California Dreaming will have its Fifth Annual Santa Night at 6 p.m. today to support the Kennesaw Police Department's Jerry Worthan Memorial Christmas Fund. For more than three decades, donations to the fund have enabled the agency to give toys and new clothes to needy children in Acworth and Kennesaw. The deadline for food, clothing, toy and monetary donations is Tuesday, and barely a quarter of the 250 children who require assistance this year had been adopted as of last week. The Kennesaw Police Department is counting on businesses and individuals to come to the rescue.
For more than three decades, donations to the Kennesaw Police Department's Christmas fund have enabled the agency to give toys and new clothes to needy children in Acworth and Kennesaw. The deadline for food, clothing, toy and monetary donations to the Jerry Worthan Memorial Christmas Fund is Tuesday, and only 70 of the 250 children who require assistance this year have been adopted, the department spokesman said this afternoon. From the Kennesaw Police Department: This is the 35th year for the City of Kennesaw Police Department to help less fortunate families in Kennesaw and Acworth. Last year, the Kennesaw Police Department was able to help 86 families, including 242 children. Donations of money, food or new toys would be greatly appreciated. The dropoff location for toys and food is the Kennesaw City Jail. Monetary donations can be brought to the Kennesaw Police Department from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Maybe Obama can help out since he just got back from Hawaii with his family. Im sure they wont miss out on Christmas!
