The Kennesaw State University College of Arts is gearing up for its Star Spangled Spectacular concert and fireworks show this Saturday. The pre-Independence Day celebration kicks off the university's Starlight Summer Concert Series, a summertime tradition for more than 10 years. The free event will be held on the campus green at 8 p.m. Admission opens at 6:30 p.m. The concert will feature music by the Georgia Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, culminating with a fireworks show. Two pieces of advice: Never ignite fireworks in a container, especially glass or metal, and avoid excessive alcohol consumption when handling fireworks.
