Kennesaw Celebrates 125th Anniversary Today
A birthday program will be held at 3 p.m. at Depot Park.
Officials in Kennesaw will celebrate the city's 125th anniversary on Saturday. The program will include acknowledgment of past and present civic leaders. In addition, city staff will sponsor a booth containing displays depicting a timeline of Kennesaw’s history including photos, maps, and articles. T-shirts, lapel pins and commemorative coins featuring a logo designed by Kennesaw Mountain High School student Rachel Fred will be available for sale. “Kennesaw has a rich and eventful heritage, and anniversaries like this one present the perfect opportunity to revisit and celebrate our past,” Mayor Mark Mathews said. “Our city has come such a long way from a railroad shanty town to the vibrant, progressive community it is today.” The …
