Cobb Police Still Investigating Fatal Shooting

It was 7:45 a.m. April 22 when a family member discovered the body of a 60-year-old man in the carport of his home at 3591 Paul Samuel Rd. and called 911

A month after 60-year-old Frank William Davidson was found dead at his home on Paul Samuel Road, no one has been arrested in connection with the incident. That's because Cobb police have no suspect in the case, according to a story in today's Marietta Daily Journal. It was 7:45 a.m. April 22 when a family member discovered Davidson's body in the carport of his home at 3591 Paul Samuel Rd. and called 911, Sgt. Dana Pierce with the Cobb County Police Department told Patch last month. For much of that day, police officials referred to the case as a "suspicious death." By that evening, the department upgraded it to a "murder investigation." "He was shot in the carport of his home," Pierce said. "He died from a gunshot wound." That's the only …

Cops: Kennesaw Man Was Shot

About 7:45 a.m. Monday, officers went to 3591 Paul Samuel Rd. and found the body of a dead man in the carport of his home.

The Kennesaw man found dead this week at a home on Paul Samuel Road had been shot. "He was shot in the carport of his home," said Sgt. Dana Pierce with the Cobb County Police Department. "He died from a gunshot wound." But Pierce would not discuss how many times 60-year-old Frank William Davidson was shot, where he was shot, what kind of gun was used in the shooting or any other details "because of this ongoing investigation." About 7:45 a.m. Monday, a family member discovered Davidson's body in the carport of the home at 3591 Paul Samuel Rd. and called 911, he said. For much of Monday, the police department referred to the case as a "suspicious death." By that evening, the department upgraded it to a "murder investigation." The department…

Suspicious Death Now a Murder Case

The Cobb County Police Department was careful not to use that word all day.

About 7:45 a.m. today, officers went to 3591 Paul Samuel Rd. and found the body of a dead man lying in the carport of his home. All day, one spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department said the agency was working a "suspicious death." Tonight, another spokesman for the agency said the department's Crime Against Persons Unit was investigating a "murder." "The victim, identified as 60-year-old Frank William Davidson of Kennesaw, died under circumstance that indicate foul play," Sgt. Dana Pierce said. That's all detectives are willing to release at this time, Pierce said. The department is asking anyone with information about the murder to call 770-499-3945. Related content

Man Admits to Killing Kennesaw State Student

Matthew Cherry was a store clerk at the Marietta GameStop in 2007 when Patrick Graham pulled a gun on him.

The man who beat and wrapped duct tape around the head of a Kennesaw State University student during a 2007 video game store robbery pleaded guilty to murder.  Tuesday's guilty plea in a Cobb County courtroom will keep Patrick Graham off of death row, but send him to prison for the rest of his life, according to WSB-TV. Matthew Cherry was a store clerk at the Marietta GameStop when Graham walked in with a gun and ordered Cherry, a co-worker and the co-worker's father forced into a back room, according to WSB-TV. Though Cherry cooperated with Graham during the robbery, “the medical examiner's conclusion was the victim was beaten and bound and was suffocated, and this was a slow and tortuous death, lasting at a minimum a minute and a half, …
