Man Shot in Kennesaw Was Visiting

He is expected to make a full recovery.

Hours after homes were evacuated, roads were blocked and members of the Cobb County Police SWAT team converged on a Kennesaw neighborhood early this morning, investigators were still trying to determine what caused the shooting that started it all. "It's fuzzy math," said Sgt. Dana Pierce, spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department. About six people were inside a Bozeman Lake Road residence this morning when one man, using a "long, powerful assault type of weapon," shot another man who was visiting the home, Pierce said. Kennesaw Shooting Suspect Surrenders Following SWAT Situation

Cobb County Police have not released the names of the suspect or the person who was shot this morning.

A man suspected in an early morning shooting surrendered to Cobb County authorities after a three-hour SWAT situation in a Kennesaw neighborhood. Sgt. Dana Pierce, spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that one person was shot about 2:30 a.m. at a home on Bozeman Lake Road. Cobb County SWAT team members evacuated homes in the area and blocked several roads as negotiators tried to make contact with the suspect. He surrendered to officers sometime after 6:15 a.m., according to WSB-TV, CBS Atlanta and the AJC. The shooting victim was taken to a local hospital. That person's condition is not known.
