Join the American Legion Post 160 this weekend to enjoy food, music and entertainment while raising money for Special Olympics-Cobb.
This Sunday, April 7, the American Legion Post 160 of Smyrna will host its 25th Annual Fundraiser for Special Olympics-Cobb. The event will be held from noon to 6 p.m. at Post 160's office located at 160 Legion Drive in Smyrna. Cobb residents are invited to join the American Legion family and enjoy silent and live auctions, food, music and performances by Special Olympics Gymnastic Team. Admission is $5. Cops and doughnuts. Need I say more? The Kennesaw Police Department will join police forces throughout Georgia and sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts this Friday, June 8, through Sunday, June 10, in a fundraiser benefiting the Special Olympics. Kennesaw's finest will set up shop in an RV at the intersection of Cobb Parkway and Old Hwy. 41 in front of Electric Cowboy and have 750 dozen doughnuts on hand over the three-day event. Other police departments will be fundraising from the roofs of Krispy Kreme stores throughout Georgia in the annual Cops on Doughnut Shops event. According to a release, this is the 12th year Krispy Kreme Doughnuts has teamed up with the Law Enforcement Torch Run to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics athletes. …
