On any given day, Metro Atlanta and Washington, D.C., might seem like they’re a million miles apart. Today is not one of those days. As Congress and President Barack Obama attempt to hash out differences to stop America from falling over the “Fiscal Cliff,” Patch and Starbucks are teaming up to urge Republicans and Democrats to “come together.” The two companies are working together to make sure Congress gets the message America wants a viable solution to the country’s financial woes. Kennesaw Patch editor Gaetana Pipia documents places and faces around town.

If you spot me around town, please say hello. Ask me a question, give me a news tip, or let me know what Kennesaw Patch can do to better serve our community. Plus, I'll give you, your business, school, church, or even your dog, a shout-out on the site. There aren't too many Gaetana's around town last time I checked, so if you hear the name, it's probably me. Plus, I'm usually lugging around a black computer case, my almost 7-month-old daughter, or in most cases, both. Speaking of Leizel, she just started seeing a new doctor at Kennesaw Pediatrics on Cherokee Street. She …

Nice sentiment and I hope it will work, but I am not at all convinced that it will do any good. http://www.schoolanduniversity.com/ Our politics and our Congress have entrenched themselves in their respective ideologies and are, at this point, refusing to budge. Compromise has become a dirty word in Washington, D.C. and all the nice sentiments on every coffee cup in every Starbucks in the country…   more ›
