POD: Super Bowl Pic That Almost Wasn't

Our Pin of the Day for Tuesday, Feb. 7, is a post-game photo taken by my father at the Super Bowl. It's a picture that almost didn't happen. Dad managed to get pickpocketed, losing his game and tailgate party tickets in the process. If you've ever met my father, you'd know he's a likely target for a pickpocket. He has the reflexes of a sloth and once fell asleep during a Las Vegas performance by the Blue Man Group, an act that basically consists of loud drumming. He was seated in the second row, and the performers incorporated him into their show by throwing water balloons or fruit or something round and wet at him. He doesn't really remember. He was asleep.
