The Weekender: 37th Annual Big Shanty Festival

This weekend get out to the Mad Hatter Tea Party & Fashion Show in Acworth, a day of baseball and family fun at Sewell Park, the Big Shanty Festival in Kennesaw and the Georgia Native Plant Society's Annual Spring Plant Sale in Marietta.

Big Shanty Festival When: Saturday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 21 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Where: Downtown Kennesaw on both sides of Main Street What: Come enjoy the 37th annual Big Shanty Festival. The downtown Kennesaw area will be transformed into a giant family-friendly festival. There will be a variety of activities to entertain all ages as well as more than 200 booths featuring a vast array of one-of-a-kind and homemade crafts. The Weekender: Acworth Art Fest, 'You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown'

This weekend see the musical "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" on Marietta Square; go on a guided walk of the uncompleted section of the Silver Comet Trail; or head to Acworth for the annual Art Fest.

Weekender: Easter Egg Hunts, Musicals

This weekend get out to Kennesaw's Easter Egg Scramble with crafts, inflatables and the Easter Bunny; St. Teresa's Easter Egg Hunt in Acworth with live animals and refreshments, and more.

Kennesaw's Easter Egg Scramble What: Head over to Adams Park for an Easter Egg Scramble and other kid-friendly activities including crafts, face painting, inflatables and even a visit from the Easter Bunny. Children will be separated by age groups onto different fields for the Scramble. Each field will feature thousands of colorful wrapped candy treats and goody-filled eggs, along with a few "lucky" eggs that can be redeemed for larger prizes.
