University of Georgia head football coach Mark Richt Monday night stopped by the Texas Roadhouse location off Barrett Parkway, according to social media accounts. Several Twitter users uploaded tweets and Instagram photos online. Some of the tweets indicated Richt also visited McEachern High School in Powder Springs earlier in the day. Richt's appearance in Cobb came almost two weeks after UGA's 45-31 victory over the University of Nebraska in the Capital One Bowl.
If the Bulldogs beat Bama, they're likely headed to Miami to take on Notre Dame for the BCS title.

A new nonprofit group is holding a fundraiser Saturday night for Johnathan Taylor, the North Cobb High alumnus who was paralyzed in a freak collision while playing baseball for the University of Georgia last year. The Dawgs for JT event will be at the Buckhead Theatre at 8 p.m. It will feature entertainment from the Kurt Thomas Band and DJ Jobe, an open bar from 8 to 9, and a cash bar from 9 to 11. Donations and corporate sponsorships raised by the host committee will cover all costs Saturday night, so every cent of the $25 admission charge will go to benefit Taylor’s recovery.
