Setzler Named House Science Chair

He represents Acworth and Kennesaw.

State Rep. Ed Setzler (R-Acworth) was recently named chair of the House Science and Technology Committee. The committee "is responsible for legislation that promotes the appropriate and safe development and use of science and technological advances in the state," according to the committee's website. The assignment worries some in the biotech industry, according to a story in Wednesday's Atlanta Journal-Constitution. They fear that Setzler, who has led efforts to ban research on embryonic stem cells and sponsored a bill that makes it illegal to implant people with microchips against their will, could impede advances in the industry, according to the AJC.

Agreed! I'm not a big fan of Setzler's but his is ridiculous! You are anti science if you don't agree with micro-chipping humans against their will? What is this? Nazi Germany?   more ›

N. Cobb Christian's Perfection Spoiled

St. Francis ends the Eagles' season in the first round of the GHSA playoffs, while Mount Paran reaches Round 2.

I think two things happened to NCCS Saturday night -- they were looking ahead to playing Whitefield this week, and St. Francis played the game of their lives...very sad to get knocked out in the first round after a perfect season...but great season anyways, guys! Just goes to show you that, on any given day...   more ›
