140 Jobs Coming to Kennesaw

Novelis is looking to hire engineers, scientists and technologists.

A new $30 million Global Research and Technology Center expected to bring 140 jobs to the Kennesaw area will open its doors during a ceremony Friday morning. Novelis, the world's largest supplier of rolled aluminum, announced in May of last year its plans to open the 60,000-square-foot facility at 1950 Vaughn Rd. in Kennesaw. According to a release, the center will develop new products and applications for the automotive, can and electronics industries in collaboration with customers like Jaguar, Coca-Cola and Samsung. The new center features testing laboratories and a pilot beverage canning line. Future plans include a small-scale aluminum rolling mill, the release said. To celebrate the occasion, Gov. The aluminum company is opening its Kennesaw center this summer but is struggling to find takers for six-figure-salary positions.

The world's largest producer of rolled aluminum is expected to bring 150 jobs to Kennesaw as it opens its new center this summer. While Novelis has advertised for technologists, scientists, engineers and machinists since at least January, the Buckhead-based global business has struggled to find qualified workers, even at six-figure salaries. Novelis Struggles to Fill Jobs

The aluminum company is opening its Kennesaw center this summer but can't find takers for six-figure-salary positions.

The world's largest producer of rolled aluminum is bringing a seriously high-tech operation to Kennesaw. Cobb County wants to be a center for seriously high tech. But somehow Novelis can't find takers for 20 openings at the technology center it's opening on Vaughn Road this summer, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Novelis has advertised for technologists, scientists, engineers and machinists since at least January, but even six-figure salaries haven't closed the deal for the Buckhead-based global business.
