Kennesaw State Athletics Signs With Adidas

Adidas will be the official apparel provider for the Owls.

The Kennesaw State University Department of Athletics has taken another step forward in standardizing its brand by partnering with Adidas to be the official apparel provider of the Owls. The multi-year contract calls for Kennesaw State’s 17 intercollegiate athletic teams to be outfitted in Adidas apparel and footwear. This transition is underway, and KSU teams will debut their new look this fall. “This is just another great day in the history of Kennesaw State University and the Department of Athletics,” KSU Director of Athletics Vaughn Williams said. “The deal with Adidas is another positive step in moving the Department of Athletics forward and creating a consistent look for all Kennesaw State University athletic teams. KSU Releases Men's Basketball Schedule

The Owls start their season at the University of Tennessee on Nov. 9

A total of five teams that advanced to postseason play in 2012 highlight the 2012-13 Kennesaw State University men’s basketball schedule that was announced by second-year head coach Lewis Preston. The Owls will play nine of 12 non-conference games on the road, including six of their first eight. Kennesaw State will be tested early as it travels to Knoxville, Tenn. to open its season against the University of Tennessee at Thompson-Boling Arena on Nov. 9. The Volunteers posted a 19-15 overall record, tied for second in the Southeastern Conference and advanced to the second round of the National Invitation Tournament. The schedule also features a pair of road games against Big East stalwarts Notre Dame (Dec. 19) and Pittsburgh (Dec. 23). The …

KSU Releases Women's Basketball Schedule

The Owls will begin play at Middle Tennessee State University on Nov. 9.

A road game against local rival Georgia Tech and an appearance in the 16-team Women's Preseason National Invitation Tournament highlight the 2012-13 Kennesaw State University women's basketball schedule that was released by first-year head coach Nitra Perry. Taking over a program that posted a 14-17 overall record and tied for fifth in the Atlantic Sun Conference a year ago, Perry will make her Owls coaching debut in a WNIT first-round game at Middle Tennessee State University on Nov. 9. in Murfreesboro, Tenn.  Kennesaw State will play a second-round game against either Grambling State or Memphis on Nov. 11.  Middle Tennessee State, Georgia Tech and Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament Champion Florida Gulf Coast University join potential …

Kennesaw State Unveils Fight Song

Kennesaw State University will debut its new fight song during the Feb. 10 men’s basketball game against the Mercer University Bears.

Kennesaw State University has said yes to football and in 2011 hired new athletic director Vaughn Williams to help lead the way. Now, the university is amping up its school spirit with a new fight song it hopes will be "heard all through the Southland." The fight song will make its ceremonious debut during Friday's men’s basketball game against rivals the Mercer University Bears. There will be a 5 p.m. tailgate for fans outside of the Convocation Center before the fight song is played at 6:45. The game begins at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast network.  The Lady Owls take on Mercer Saturday at 5 p.m.

Lady Owls on Right Track

Athens Christian High School's Destiny Jenkins signed a letter of intent Wednesday to run track and cross country at Kennesaw State University.

Kennesaw State University's women's track and field team is gaining speed with a first-place performance in the 4x400 meter relay in Illinois, a win and program record in the 800-meter event in Birmingham and concerted efforts to recruit new talent. Destiny Jenkins, a senior and star runner at Athens Christian High School, signed a letter of intent Wednesday to run track and cross country for the Lady Owls, reported the Athens-Banner Herald. Jenkins won the state Class A titles in the 800-meter and 1600-meter events and was on the winning 1600-meter relay team last spring, reported the Banner Herald. She joins her brother, Joshua, who signed to compete at Kennesaw State on the same day a year ago. Jenkins was part of the Athens Christian …
