National Public Lands Day

 Join REI and Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club for the National Environmental Educational Foundation's National Public Lands Day on September 28th. The project for this year will be at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park at Cheatham Hill on the Assault Trail. The national park is being readied for next June's 150th Civil War Battle Commemoration. Work will be on the Assault Trail where Union troops marched to fight Confederate soldiers at Cheatham Hill. Visitors hiking the Assault Trail during the 150th Commemoration and recreational hikers will appreciate this new and improved trail section. Participants should meet at the parking lot at 900 Cheatham Hill Road; Marietta, GA 30064. Please bring water and work gloves. Register in advance: http://www.rei.com/event/52869/session/77465
