Open House Showcases Kennesaw Heritage

The Open House will feature theme decorations from the Victorian era supplied by Julia Bramlett of Big Shanty Antiques, artifacts from Kennesaw's 1920's semi-pro baseball team, entertainment by a brass quintet and refreshments.

Kennesaw’s history and heritage will be the focus of a holiday Christmas Heritage Open House on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 6 and 7. 

The event, an initiative of the city’s Recreation and Culture Commission, will be held in the historic Community House at 2838 Big Shanty Road adjacent to the Southern Museum.

The hours of operation are Friday, 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

One room will showcase artifacts from Kennesaw’s 1920’s semi-pro baseball team, the Smokers.

Entertainment will be provided Friday evening by a brass quintet courtesy of Dawn Bowen and North Georgia Horn Works.

Light refreshments of cider, hot cocoa and cookies will be served.
